Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Farms in different parts of the DPRK have made successes in fish breeding at paddy fields. This year, nearly 200 units in South Phyongan Province introduced the fish breeding into more than 1 100 hectares of paddy fields to produce hundreds of tons of catfish, carp and goldfish while raising the rice yield per hectare. And several farms in Sinuiju City of North Phyongan Province produced tens of tons of fish. Farms in Pyongyang City, too, have shared in the benefit through fish breeding at paddy fields. In particular, the fish breeding method of Janggyo Cooperative Farm in Kangnam County attracts the attention of people. The farm made the regular course for fish and feeding grounds at several places of harrowed fields and put fries of loach, carp and goldfish after winding up rice-transplanting. After all, the farm produced 1.5 tons of fish per hectare and increased the per-hectare rice yield by hundreds of kilograms this year. |
