Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- New historical relics has been housed at the Korean Central History Museum in the DPRK. It is a "genealogy of the Ris of Toksu", which recorded the names and achievements of ancestors of the first generation of the Ris with Toksu as an origin and their descendents including Ri I (penname Ri Ryul Gok), a famous bureaucrat and scholar in the 16th century. The 11th Non-permanent Tangible Heritage Examination and Appraisal Committee, held in August, came to evaluate that the genealogy is something out of the common and it is a valuable historical relic. According to experts, there have been several genealogies of the Ris of Toksu, and they are similar in general from the first to tenth generations but varied in content from the next generations. The newly housed genealogy shows the direct descendants of Ri I (13th generation) in the main, and it has been proved to be the only Ri I's genealogy. The genealogy was donated by Ri Yon Hui, a woman living in Sansong-dong, Haeju City of South Hwanghae Province. She told KCNA that her donation was prompted by the fact that the state has Ri I and his mother called Sinsaimdang well known to the rising generations. |
