Jagang Province properly set the season for tree-planting and planted many trees by introducing rational methods for raising the rate of rooting.

North Hamgyong Province planted more than ten million of trees under a detailed plan and on the basis of scientific analysis into its real state of afforestation, topographical characteristics and actual conditions.

South Hamgyong Province, too, finished its planned planting of such trees as "Kumya Black Pine" and Larix lepolepis.

Provinces, cities and counties of the country have put the production of saplings on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis while pushing ahead with the work to spread pine-nut, chestnut and other wild fruit trees.
