Heinous Crime Committed by Japanese Imperialists Condemned
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- DPRK leading newspapers on Wednesday lay bare the thrice-cursed atrocious act the Japanese imperialists committed by poisoning Emperor Kojong on January 22, 1919.

Rodong Sinmun says in an article that the Japanese imperialists murdered Emperor Kojong by poison as he had taken the stand against them by taking the advantages of the anti-Japanese sentiment of the Korean people protesting against their occupation of Korea.

It was the most unpardonable heinous crime, the paper says and goes on:

Though much water has flown under the bridge since the incident, the truth behind it and Japan's atrocity and barbarity can never be covered up.

Now Japan is sharpening the sword for reinvasion while distorting and whitewashing its history of aggression, far from honestly reflecting on the past crimes and making an apology and reparation to the Korean people for its past crimes.

As long as Japan takes the negative attitude toward the settlement of the past, stronger will be the protest and denunciation by the Korean nation and the international community.

Minju Joson also says in an article that the incident was a hideous unethical crime and an infringement upon sovereignty that can be committed only by the Japanese imperialists obsessed with viciousness, brutality and bellicosity.
