Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Thursday says in an editorial that the spirit of Mt Paektu is the noble idea and spirit running through the ever-victorious history of the Korean revolution. Thanks to the revolutionary spirit of the forerunners who indomitably made their way through snow of history upholding President Kim Il Sung as the centre of unity and leadership in the early period of the Korean revolution, the Korean revolution could bring about such great practices as vigorous advance and brilliant succession, the editorial says, and goes on: The spirit of Mt Paektu is the strong treasured sword to further demonstrate the dignity and might of the DPRK which is neutralizing the offensive of the hostile forces to stifle it and achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance. The revolutionary spirit of Mt Paektu puts forward national independence and national self-respect as lifeline and shows no mercy to enemies. It serves as the motive force for bringing earlier the bright future of a powerful socialist country. The Korean revolution has made vigorous progress in the face of arduous and stern trials without any slight stagnation and standstill. The credit for it was the fighting spirit of the anti-Japanese forerunners who fought it out no matter how often they may fall and braved any adversity. We should follow the fighting spirit of anti-Japanese guerrillas who defeated the enemies with Yanji bomb of their own making, and thus resolutely advance along the road of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance with the firm national self-respect that our ideology, strength and style are the best. The editorial calls for taking the spirit of Mt Paektu as the eternal lifeline of the Korean revolution to break through all the barriers head-on and staunchly fight for the victory in the building of a powerful socialist country. |
