S. Korean Conservatives Hit for Abusing Social Calamity as Means for Political Dispute

| Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- According to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Sibo, the Progressive Federation of Students, the People's Sovereignty Solidarity in south Korea, etc., held a press conference outside the building of the "United Future Party" (UFP) on Feb. 26 to condemn the conservative opposition party for abusing social calamity as a means for political dispute. Speakers said that on Feb. 20 Hwang Kyo An, representative of the UFP, made absurd remarks that tax paid by the people should not be used under the pretext of COVID-19 while cunningly attributing a surge of COVID-19 cases to the "government". The press release pointed out that the UFP's pursuit of its own interests only goes to prove that it doesn't stand by the people. The people will keep in their memory the UFP's anti-popular acts and deal a telling blow to it in the upcoming general election, the press release stressed. |
