The March First Popular Uprising was an eruption of intolerable resentment and grudge of the Korean nation against the barbarous military rule of the Japanese imperialists who occupied Korea by force of arms and reigned over it as heinous colonial ruler, and outcome of the long-cherished desire of the Korean people to live with dignity in a full-fledged independent and sovereign state, says Rodong Sinmun in an article.

The March First Popular Uprising fully demonstrated at home and abroad that the Korean people do not want to become slaves of others but fearlessly fight against the aggressors at the cost of their lives.

They indiscriminately and brutally suppressed the uprising by mobilizing divisions of the Japanese imperialist aggression army stationed in Korea, military police, police force, fire-fighters and other repressive forces.

The Japanese imperialists massacred over 100000 Koreans in a few months in brutal way unprecedented in history.

The Japanese imperialists' suppression of the March First Popular Uprising was the hideous unethical crime going against the international law.
