DPRK Ensures All Rights of Women
Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, women are provided with genuine rights in all realms of social life.

Thanks to the Law on Sex Equality promulgated by President Kim Il Sung in Juche 35 (1946), they could take part in socio-political activities.

All their rights are guaranteed by such laws as the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK, the Law on Protection of Women's Rights, the Socialist Labor Law and Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children, and by the state and social policies.

The state grants women the same rights to elect or be elected, work in the state and other organizations, and receive the labor protection and social security with men.

Nurseries, kindergartens and public service facilities have been arranged in residential districts and industrial establishments for their convenience and children are growing up at state and social expense.

The state bestows special favors on the women with triplets and quadruplets to have doctors in charge of their households and be provided houses, medicines, foodstuffs and household articles free of charge.

And the women with many children are preferentially treated in society and awarded even the title of Labor Hero.

Women amount to 17.6 percent of the deputies to the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

They exercise their political rights in party and government organs and working people's organizations at all levels, contributing to the prosperity of the country.

The National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo posted an article on its website that the DPRK is an admirable country where the norm of international law on sex equality comes true and women are respected and prioritized.
