Present at the meeting were Japanese personages of various strata including Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, and Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), So Chung On, director of its Department for International Affairs and Reunification, officials of Chongryon in Kanto area and others.

Fumihiro Himori referred to the fact that the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea set the economic front as the key front in an offensive for making a breakthrough head-on.

He appealed for further boosting the Japan-DPRK friendship to support the offensive launched by the DPRK, saying that the DPRK expressed its will to stand against the hostile forces' sanctions and stifling moves head-on with the single-hearted unity of the people in order to build a wealthy country.
