Over 6 Million People Have Visited Korean Art Gallery
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- March 11, Juche 54 (1965), is a significant day when President Kim Il Sung visited the Korean Art Gallery.

The field guidance given by the President served as an epochal turn in the development of the gallery.

The President indicated directions and ways for its management and operation from the fundamental issue arising in preserving the heritages of national art to the issue of conducting education through art pieces.

True to the instructions of the President the officials of the gallery meticulously organized the work of finding out the heritages of national art and unearthed and collected thousands of art pieces.

Among them are art pieces produced in the period of the feudal Joson dynasty and those of national treasure showing the proud history of the development of the Juche-oriented fine arts in a systematic way.

In the new century of Juche, over 100 more medieval and modern art pieces have been displayed, art exhibitions and shows splendidly held and popularization of art pieces has been conducted in diverse forms and ways.

Art pieces reflective of the ideological and moral world of the Korean people for the sacred place of the revolution and famous pieces showing the spirit of a powerful country are being added to the collections.

More than 10000 new art pieces have been displayed in the gallery and over 6 million working people, youth and students and overseas Koreans and foreigners have visited the gallery for the past 55 years.
