Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The nationwide anti-epidemic work to prevent the inroads of COVID-19 has been intensified in response to the spirit of the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Inspection and quarantine of imports are being tightened. The inspection and quarantine units at all levels in Pyongyang and local areas carry out thoroughgoing inspection and disinfection of vehicles, vessels and goods, and leave imports in natural state of tight closure for 10 days before handing them over to relevant units according to proper procedure and order. Amid the stricter enforcement of the nationwide top-class anti-epidemic measures, foreigners, returnees from abroad, contacts and other personnel under medical observation are freed from quarantine according to directives of the Central Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters. The DPRK has further intensified quarantine and medical observation of foreigners entering the DPRK, and has freed over 70 foreigners without suspected symptoms from quarantine. Over 990 people were freed from quarantine in North Phyongan Province and above 720 in South Phyongan Province. Officials of the Party and power organs and working people's organizations and those in the fields of public health and anti-epidemic control across the country have boosted the hygienic information service about the worldwide spread of COVID-19 and preventive and treatment measures among the people, so that they should never feel relieved for having no COVID-19 case in the DPRK. |
