Their mother Ri Yon Hwa lives in neighborhood unit No. 74 of Rabuk-dong No. 1, Ranam District of Chongjin City, North Hamgyong Province.

Their father Pak Kyong Nam is an officer of the Korean People's Army.

The triplets weigh 2.09kg, 1.92kg and 1.33kg respectively.

Women, once confirmed to be pregnant with triplets, are sent to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital for childbirth and triplets are taken into care there till they weigh 4kg.
