New Irrigation Project Hastened
Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- Unryul County of South Hwanghae Province in the DPRK is undertaking an irrigation project for farming by drawing water off the Taedong River into a reservoir.

It dug several kilometer-long waterway within one month by removing tens of thousands of cubic meters of earth and built several pumping stations along the foot of a mountain. After completing the building of structures like conduit, it has sped up the assembling of iron pipes.

In recent years a long spell of drought has hindered rice farming of the county and there were serious water shortages.

So, the county has planed such new irrigation project.

If a new irrigation network is formed, it will help supply water to several farms and fill the reservoir with much water at appointed time.
