The commentary said that the probe into the truth behind the sinking of the warship still remains a crucial issue.

It noted that the then civilian-military joint investigation team made public the results saying that the "warship was torpedoed by the north," but there was no evidence that the wrecks of the torpedo were the ones of the "north's" and the existence of a "submarine" which launched the torpedo was not made clear.

Underscoring the need to reinvestigate the truth behind the sinking of "Cheonan", it added that the authorities should not check the expression of will and freedom of thinking for the reinvestigation.
