The Economic Forest Institute under the Academy of Forest Science produced 150,000~200,000 saplings per hectare and supplied them to relevant units, after developing a method of putting the production of dwarf chestnut tree saplings on a scientific and intensive footing.

It also bred and introduced new species of fast-growing trees with high productivity and much medicinal value, while ensuring their rate of rooting at over 90 percent.

Nutritive activator and other accelerants developed by them are well received.

The researchers at the Forest Science Information Institute developed "Friends of Forest", a data browser for dissemination of forest science and technology which makes it possible to get rapid access to domestic and foreign scientific and technological information, multimedia, etc. by use of domain and integrated search functions.

The Thremmatology Institute, the Forest Machine Institute and other units have made positive efforts to create seed-gathering forests and introduce machines for forest conservation on a nationwide scale.
