Chairman Kim Jong Il Highly Praised by Swiss Organizations

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Organizing Committee for the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea issued a joint statement on April 3 on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

The statement said that Kim Jong Il consolidated the country's defence capabilities in every way, frustrating the frantic moves of the hostile forces to bring the DPRK down with the treasured sword of Songun. It added that the DPRK turned into an invincible socialist fortress under his leadership.

It stressed that he brought about a radical turn for the reunification of Korea and provided a firm foundation for building a powerful socialist state.
