The president extended the wholehearted and warmest congratulations to Kim Jong Un and, through him, to the friendly Korean people on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The message said that Kim Il Sung built the DPRK into a powerful country facing up to the foreign forces' moves to stifle the sovereignty, independence and right of the DPRK to self-determination.

It noted that the exploits of Kim Il Sung who made a contribution to the movement of national liberation around the world and supported the cause of Arab opposing Zionism will be immortal in the hearts of not only the Korean people but also the world people aspiring after freedom.

It wished that the Korean people would achieve progress and prosperity while continuously demonstrating their might under the guidance of Kim Jong Un.
