The agricultural sector of the country secured more than 37,000 hectares of cropland in the last nine months, through such projects as river improvement, straightening of roads and waterways, reclamation of idle land and relocation of public buildings. They include 4,000 hectares each in North Hamgyong and South Hwanghae provinces, 3,900 hectares in North Hwanghae Province and 3,500 hectares in North Phyongan Province.
