Abnormal Weather Phenomena Witnessed in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Recently, abnormal weather phenomena were witnessed in the DPRK. It rained in certain areas and the temperature was so changeable.

In the beginning and the middle of March, the country saw frequent rainfall and snow in northern inland regions. So, the monthly precipitation in the regions was higher than the average, whereas that in areas south of the central part, including Nampho City and South Hwanghae Province, was lower.

In the end of March and the beginning of April, it rained very little in the country as a whole. And arid climate persisted in most parts of the west coast, with frequent strong wind.

In the period, the temperature went up as compared with the average. But from April 20, it went down suddenly. The maximum temperature on April 21 and 22 was less than 10 degrees centigrade in the eastern and western coastal areas and less than 4 degrees centigrade in the northern inland areas, 7-10 degrees lower than the average.

In particular, slight snowfall accompanied by strong wind was witnessed in some areas of the west coast on April 21. According to experts, such phenomenon can be seen early in winter or early in spring.
