The Horticultural Technology Bureau in the DPRK has recently cultivated rare flowers necessary for peculiar and diverse eco-friendly greening to contribute to the people's cultural and emotional life.

Through its research into the cultivation of varieties of roses with different colors, the bureau turned out thousands of rose plants with nine colors, which were sent to the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area under construction and other units.

It also discovered new properties of deep pink carnation and acclimatized it, while cultivating 68 varieties of cactuses including Echinocactus grusonii, Bolivicereus and Notocactus scopa in the way of tissue culture to be used for the improvement of ecological environment and room and veranda decoration. And it established a method of cultivating Phalaenopsis amabilis, Anthurium andreanum and Gerbera hybrida, flowers rare to be seen in the world.

Meanwhile, the bureau helped raise the decoration effect of the exhibition hall at the floriculture warehouse, located at the foot of Mt Taesong, with 70 kinds of flowers and 14 varieties of rare flowering trees.
