Expedition to Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt Paektu Area Active in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- More than 56,000 officials, working people, service personnel of the People's Army and youth and students of over 1,000 groups have made expedition to the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from the beginning of December last year to the end of April this year, according to data available. Earlier than others, Party information workers from across the country climbed Mt Paektu, the ancestral mountain as well as the sacred mountain of the revolution which is the cradle of the Juche revolution, permeated with the ethos and spirit of Korea. They were followed by officials in the field of the preservation of revolutionary historic relics, youth and students, workers and officials of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, service personnel of the Korean People's Army, commanding officers of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and officials of ministries and national institutions. They made visits to the Samjiyon Grand Monument, Chongbong, Konchang, Pegaebong and Mupho Bivouacs, Paektusan Secret Camp, Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site, etc. The expedition gained further momentum after an appeal made public by the lecturers at the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu. In April alone, a number of people from many units including the Sangwon Cement Complex and the Taean Friendship Glass Factory made expedition to Mt Paektu. |
