Rodong Sinmun Calls for Bringing about Great Surge in Production

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- The completion of our-style Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory under all kinds of difficulties and hardships is a brilliant fruition of the line of the Workers' Party of Korea for putting the national economy on a Juche basis and its great leadership, and a proud victory our people achieved through a devoted struggle by displaying their ardent loyalty to the Party, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an editorial.

All sectors of the national economy, vanguard sectors in particular, should take the lead in keeping production going at a high rate in order to further cement the foundation of the independent economy and vigorously propel the economic development of the country under the leadership of the Party.

It is the steadfast determination and consistent stand of our Party to push ahead with the economic development of the country by giving precedence to the vanguard sectors.

The historic Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea clearly indicated the task for steering the vanguard sectors of the national economy, the basic industries, on the track of healthy development.

The vigorous advance of the vanguard sectors precisely means the speed of the advance in the socialist construction.

Officials and working people in the vanguard sectors, the basic industries, should redouble their efforts to meet the needs for electricity, coal, raw materials, fuel and transport in economic construction and thus glorify their everyday life with brilliant achievements in the on-going offensive for making a breakthrough head-on, keeping in their minds the Party's great trust in them and the sense of duty for the times.
