Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Saturday carries an article on the lapse of 45 years since the diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Thailand were established. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Thailand established the diplomatic ties on May 8, 1975. This was an important occasion that signaled the beginning of the development of bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, the article says, and goes on: The two countries have developed the friendly and cooperative ties on the basis of independence, mutual respect, equality and mutual benefits. President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, forged close relations with the royal family of the Kingdom of Thailand long time ago and made the noble history of friendship and fraternity between the peoples of the two countries. The President made all efforts, all his revolutionary life, to develop the friendly relations between the DPRK and Thailand, meeting at least 200 personages in the political, social and economic fields of Thailand when they visited the DPRK. Thanks to the immortal exploits performed by the President for the development of bilateral relations, the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have invariably displayed the vitality in the new century, too. It is the fixed stand of the DPRK government to invariably expand and develop the relations of friendship and cooperation with Thailand in all fields, including politics, economy and culture, as required by the new era. |
