The daily said that a military training corps of the infantry school under the branch command for education of combatants misjudged an airborne brigade moving to the Kwangju Airport as a civilian army unit and made an assault on it in the afternoon of May 24, 1980, killing 10 soldiers.

It said that many documents recorded the case as a mistaken shooting or conflict between forces under Martial Law, but "the notice of death" represented the dead as "the fallen killed by mobs (Kwangju citizens)".

Noting on other several fabricated death records, the daily stressed that it would be quite possible such fabrication were carried out with Chun Doo Hwan's connivance.
