More Data about May 18 Kwangju Uprising Opened to Public in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- Manuscripts written by an AP correspondent, who covered the May 18 Kwangju Uprising on the spot from May 22 to 27, 1980, was opened to the public, according to the south Korean Newsis.

The manuscripts record in detail the circumstances of the uprising in Kwangju, including death toll and moves of the "forces under the Martial Law".

They say that Kwangju citizens staged street demonstrations in demand of the withdrawal of new military dictator Chun Doo Hwan and the martial law command conducted military operations, arresting hundreds of students and citizens.

It is said that the real number of victims during the uprising, in particular, surpasses the one already reported.

The daily reported that the manuscripts come to be an important information probing the truth behind the May 18 Kwangju Uprising.
