Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- Cultural relics showing the time-honored history and brilliant culture of the Korean nation have been well preserved in the DPRK. Among them are Sami Pavilion and Stone Lion in Sami-dong, Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province. The pavilion was built in the 19th century. The colorfully painted pavilion with hip-saddle roof has various granite pillars and wooden pillars above them. And there is the stone lion in front of the pavilion dating back to Koryo Dynasty (918-1392). The stone lion shows well the skilled sculpture of ancestors. Going round Haeju City in September Juche 49 (1960), Chairman Kim Jong Il gave instructions to preserve well the cultural relics left by ancestors and thus display the time-honored history and talents of the resourceful Korean nation. |
