South Hwanghae Province installed and updated dust arresters in at least 50 units, set up filtering processes in the industrial waste water settling ponds in dozens of projects, and rearranged the sewage settling ponds and others to prevent environmental pollution.

Anak County technically updated the purifying process of its foodstuff factory, and several counties carried out big projects for building dikes, stone-covering and improving rivers.

North Hwanghae Province directed efforts to the technical improvement of roads and rivers.

The province widened roads and straightened curved sections in a qualitative way, concentrated efforts on tidying the areas around reservoirs and riversides and thus put more land under cultivation this year.

Jagang Province has wound up over 80 km of road technical improvement, construction and thorough repair of bridges and dikes, and dredging of riverbeds in the shortest span of time and Kangwon Province spruced up the streets and villages by building new sewage treatment plants in dozens of places, and building and repairing many dwelling houses and public buildings.

North Hamgyong Province and Kaesong City repaired almost all roads and river dikes before planting good species of trees.
