Removal of Statues of Chief Culprits of Kwangju Massacre Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- The North Chungchong Provincial Society for Commemorating May 18 Popular Resistance of south Korea demanded a removal of the busts of traitors Chun Doo Hwan and Roh Tae Woo, according to the south Korean newspaper Hangyore.

The organization held a press conference on May 13 before the office of North Chungchong Province where it branded Chun Doo Hwan and Roh Tae Woo as felons of history.

It is shameful to admire such traitors, said the organization, urging the removal of their busts from Chongnam.

Then the members of the organization visited the provincial governor to demand the removal of the statues.
