Release of Prisoner of Conscience Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- A south Korean committee for probing the truth for victims of attempted rebellion case of lawmaker Ri Sok Gi held a press conference outside Chongwadae on May 13 to demand the release of a prisoner of conscience and the abrogation of the "Security Law"(SL), according to the south Korean online paper Minjok Ilbo.

Speakers said that the former lawmaker from the Unified Progressive Party was sent to jail on a charge of involvement in a plot of rebellion during Park Geun Hye's fascist regime.

The court delivered the judgment on the plot of rebellion not guilty and denied even the existence of an underground revolutionary organization, they held.

Nevertheless, Ri Sok Gi was kept in solitary confinement for years, a cruel violence against the victim of the coloring theory cooked up by the dictatorial regime, they pointed out.

They demanded that Ri be released and the SL scrapped.
