Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- Rare animals are on a ceaseless rise at the Central Zoo, the base for cultural and leisure activities of the people. This year alone, over 50 breeds of animals including 10-odd species of gift animals brought forth more than 160 babies. Among them are gift animals presented to Chairman Kim Jong Il by prominent foreign figures and the animals such as hamadryas baboon brought forth by their offspring. A hunting dog and parrot, gift animals that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent to the zoo, also bred young. Some other animals such as Bactrian camel also gave birth to robust young. |
