April 25, Juche 21 (1932) was the day when President Kim Il Sung founded the KPRA, the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche in the country.

With the foundation of the KPRA, the Korean people came to have the genuine revolutionary army led by an outstanding leader for the first time in history and this marked the start of the glorious history of the Korean revolution in which the imperialist aggression forces were repelled and the sovereignty and dignity of the nation staunchly championed.

In order to meaningfully celebrate the founding day of the KPRA, April 25 every year has been instituted as a national holiday.

A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK on it was promulgated on May 20.
