Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- Tea culture is encouraged among citizens of the DPRK. Teahouses and restaurants across the country have served Kangryong green tea, Kangryong black tea and other teas made of insam, shizandra, Acanthopanax sessilliflorum, semen cassiae, etc. Drinking tea at home and worksite became a daily life of many citizens. From olden times, tea has been regarded as "the elixir of life" and "drink of divine being". In an interview with KCNA at the Unjong Teahouse in Changjon Street of Pyongyang City, Kim Kwang Song, an old resident in Central District, said: I have drunk tea for ten years, and this led my blood pressure to normal. Tea also helps digestion. Pak Kyong Chol, a researcher of the Academy of Agricultural Science, said that he feels light since he started to drink tea and that it improved his memory. |
