Lots of Trees Planted In DPRK

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and organizations of the Union of Agricultural Workers across the country are putting efforts on planting a lot of fruit trees and trees of good species around rural dwelling houses in different parts of the country.

The committee of UAWK in North Phyongan Province has set multistage goals in detail and aroused all the agricultural workers to tree-planting. As a result, the number of the households cultivating 10 to 15 fruit trees and trees of good species near their houses has remarkably increased in the province.

In North Hamgyong Province, tens of thousands of rural families have planted fruit trees and trees of good species.

The Committee of UAWK in South Hamgyong Province has made Phungdong Co-op Farm in Haean District of Hamhung City a model and is pushing forward the work to generalize its experience among the UAWK organizations in the cities and counties.

Many other UAWK organizations like those in Anju City, Anbyon County and Huichon City encourage rural families to select and plant fruit trees and trees of good species proper for climatic and soil conditions and topographical characteristics of their residing areas and manure and cultivate them in a scientific and technological way.
