Many Books Published in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- A number of books conducive to the cultural and emotional life of the people have been brought out in the DPRK. The Art and Literature Publishing House has published enlarged editions of full-length novels "Anchor Weighed", "The Dawn of the Revolution" and "The Galaxy", parts of the cycle of novels "Immortal History" showing the exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung who founded the Juche idea and achieved the historic cause of the liberation of the country through the bloody anti-Japanese war. A collection of short stories "The Wavy Sea" vividly depicts the noble traits and ardent loving care of the peerlessly great men. Popular books include medium-length novel "Land Is Becoming Rich" which shows the struggle of young people who unsparingly devote their wisdom and enthusiasm. Collections of songs "Song Dedicated to Mother Party" and "March of Self-reliance" which breathe fresh vitality into today's revolutionary advance were also published. Drawing the interest of readers are those books like "Korean Classical Literature Works" (69) and (87) and "Works of Sin Kwang Su", which introduce the national cultural heritage, and collection of humorous stories "Anecdotage of Master Kim Nicknamed Phoenix" (Vol.6). The Kumsong Youth Publishing House published "For Revolution" (10), "Indictment of Suphung" and medium-length storybook "Golden Egg of Broad-billed Roller" for education and edification of youth and schoolchildren. Different units like the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing House, the Industrial Publishing House, Agricultural Publishing House and Foreign Languages Publishing House have published many books to be conducive to preparing working people for intelligent workers and creators of new culture. |
