Chun Doo Hwan's Apology to Forcibly Dismissed Pressmen Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- South Korean press and civic organizations and organizations related to May 18 Kwangju popular resistance called a news conference outside the residence of traitor Chun Doo Hwan in Seoul on May 25 in demand of an apology to the pressmen forcibly discharged by him, according to the South Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye.

At the press conference, speakers noted that the pressmen dismissed by the then newly-risen military authorities has still failed to regain their impaired reputation, and demanded an investigation into the crimes committed by the Chun Doo Hwan group and the then military in oppressing pressmen by wielding power.

The organizations said that the power of forcible investigation should be granted to the committee for probing the truth behind the May 18 Kwangju massacre in order to probe the crimes committed by Chun Doo Hwan and punish him without fail, irrespective of the statue of limitations.
