The stalls serve shaved ice mixed with strawberry, tomato, red bean and blueberry juices, and ice cream and carbonated sweet water.

In Juche 99 (2010), the Chairman recommended officials to manufacture shaved ice machines for the Pyongyang citizens. He repeatedly referred to this matter in February and March next year and took a step for supplying raw materials, saying that he would be pleased to see Pyongyangites take shaved ice in sweltering summer.

He also gave detailed instructions on the service of shaved ice including the provision of hard-glass vessel and wooden spoon and stressed the need to hold a shaved ice show often in order to improve the quality of shaved ice.
