This lamp is now used at hospitals, kindergartens, nurseries, foodstuff factories, public catering establishments and many other units to ensure the asepsis of medicines, foodstuffs, etc. and prevent decay and degeneration of raw and other materials.

Kim In Hyok, deputy chief-engineer of the factory, told KCNA:

The lamp, developed by technicians of the factory, conforms to the international standard in ultraviolet radiation amount and, it is much higher than imported one of same kind in transmittance and sterilizing effect.

It is enjoying popularity among users for less consumption of electricity than other sterilizing methods.

At present the factory produces not only various sizes of germicidal lamps but also water-disinfector, hand-disinfector and other disinfection equipment based on them.
