Magnolia, National Flower of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Magnolia, national flower of the DPRK, blooms in the period from May to June annually.

According to an expert, this flower as a single species is all the same in shape, size and color wherever it is planted in the country.

Such property coincides with the spirit of the homogeneous Korean nation that has created time-honored history and culture in the same territory for 5,000 years.

President Kim Il Sung said that magnolia can be called the king of flowers as it is beautiful, fragrant and full of vitality and produces fruit, and named it newly and designated it as the national flower of the DPRK.

The DPRK people have planted magnolia in revolutionary battle sites and other historic sites, streets, parks and compounds of industrial establishments and schools.
