Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Organizations of south Korea including the south headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Solidarity for Progress, the People's Solidarity for the Revision of Unequal South Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" held on June 13 a meeting outside the U.S. embassy in Seoul to condemn the U.S. and the south Korean authorities for escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula. The speakers condemned the "government" for driving the south-north relations into catastrophe by conniving at the leaflet scattering by the "defectors from the north" and taking a submissive posture on the U.S. deployment of THAAD and its biochemical experiments in south Korea. The U.S. military troops should be driven out of south Korea first to achieve national independence, said the speakers, declaring their will to go into a nationwide campaign against the U.S. A press release was read out at the meeting. It accused the "government" of not implementing any provisions of the north-south agreement while studying the U.S. face, launching military drills with the U.S. disturbing peace of the Korean peninsula and openly violating the agreement with the north by committing hostile acts against it and importing war hardware with an astronomical amount of money. It urged the "government" to positively implement the south-north agreement and declaration and stop north-targeted military drills and arms buildup and the U.S. to lift sanctions on the north and implement the June 12 joint statement. |
