President Kim Il Sung's Distinguished Strategy Displayed in Last Korean War
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- A war broke out in the Korean Peninsula on June 25 (Sunday), Juche 39 (1950), due to the U.S. hostile policy toward the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

At 4 a.m. of that day, the aggression forces launched a large-scale armed invasion all along the 38th parallel to intrude into the DPRK's territory one or two kilometers. So, world people worried over the destiny of the nearly two-year old DPRK.

Just then, President Kim Il Sung called an emergency Cabinet meeting to cope with the prevailing grave situation. At the meeting, he issued an order to beat off the enemy's attack and annihilate the armed invaders through a prompt and decisive counteroffensive. He called upon all the Korean people to brave out any obstacles and attain the final victory in the war.

In fact, it was beyond conception, under the existing military manuals, that the Korean People's Army (KPA) could promptly go over to a counteroffensive, dealing a powerful and decisive blow at the enemy coming in surprise attack with larger forces.

The President, with iron-willed pluck and courage, firmly believed in the working masses, who rose up in the war with arms to defend the independence, freedom and democracy of the fatherland, and the KPA formed with their sons and daughters.

After all, a counterattack was launched in all fronts under his outstanding strategy. On the day, the brave KPA units and security forces repelled the attack of the aggressors in a few hours and advanced southward.

Witnessing the fact, foreigners in Pyongyang said that it was a practical miracle, a thing unprecedented in the history of wars.
