Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- It has been seven years since Pyongyang International Football School, situated on the scenic Rungna Islet in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, began its operation. Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the school in June Juche 102 (2013) and gave an instruction on applying the scientific methods and means into teaching as it is a specialized sports school training reserve football players. And he showed loving care for its students' learning and living conditions. At the school, boy and girl students aged between 7 and 17, selected from across the country, are getting general and practical educations. Over the past years, they bagged nine gold medals and trophies and eight silver medals at international games, including the AFC U-14 Girls' Regional Championship 2016 for East Zone. And 20-odd students won the prizes of best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper. From 2017, more than 100 students (40 percent of them girls) graduated from the school through four terms. Most of the graduates are now active at April 25 Sports Team, Kigwancha Sports Team, Amnokgang Sports Team, Pyongyang Sports Team and other sports teams of the country. They have drawn the attention of football experts and fans for their good performance at domestic and international games. |
