The title of candidate academician was conferred on Ri Yong Sop, a department head of Kim Il Sung University, and Kim Il Nam, a faculty dean of Kim Chaek University of Technology. And professorship went to 10 intellectuals, including department heads Kim Hun and Ro Hak Hui, lab head Cha Sang Jun, teacher Ju Hyon Hui and researcher Sin Pun Jin at Kim Il Sung University, Mun Tong Gi, a faculty dean of Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing, and Kim Ki Song, a researcher of Korea General Red Cross Hospital.

Doctorate was awarded to 94 persons, including U Sung Sik, teacher of Kim Il Sung University, and Jang Kum Su, teacher of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education.

The number of those awarded with associate professorship is 227 and the number of winners of master's degree 1 203.
