Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea devoted all his life to the people's wellbeing. In December Juche 52 (1963), the President had to stay in North Hwanghae Province to take a rest for 10-odd days, under a decision of the Political Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee. But he went round Rinsan and other counties of the province to acquaint himself in detail with the living conditions of peasants and came back to Pyongyang. Some days later, he saw to it that a Cabinet decision was adopted to supply all the children and students across the country with padded clothes and caps free of charge. In September 1973, too, the Political Committee of the C.C., WPK adopted a special decision that the President should rest for one month. But he visited a co-op farm on the first day of his "vacation" and spent several days guiding the work of a dockyard and having discussion on the affairs of North Phyongan Province with its leading officials. Then, he stopped his rest and returned to Pyongyang. The President told officials that it is rest for him to talk with workers and peasants and take care of their livelihood and see their happy looks. Indeed, his revolutionary career was run through with warm love and devoted service for the people. |
