Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- The Taegyedo Reclaimed Tideland on the shore of the West Sea of Korea is one of the DPRK's monumental edifices. In the tideland of 8,800 hectares there are rice fields, saltern, fish farm and reservoirs. This fascinating scene would have been unthinkable without the wise guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il. President Kim Il Sung set a grand target on reclaiming hundreds of thousands of hectares of tideland on the west coastal area, saying that there are many tidelands in the area. True to his intention, the Chairman visited the construction site for reclaiming the Taegyedo tideland on several occasions to encourage its builders. The Chairman praised those builders as brave conquerors of sea and indomitable fighters with a single mind to implement the behest of the President to the end, and as performers of feats to be always remembered by the country and the people. In July Juche 99 (2010), he went round the reclaimed tideland and said that the work to enlarge the land, an eternal wealth of the country, is an important work for the welfare of all generations to come and prosperity of the country. |
