Learning about the operation of generating equipment at the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, he underlined the need to direct priority efforts to giving full play to the existing generating capacity so as to generate electricity on a stable basis. He also called on officials to properly map out the projects for overhauling equipment and guide the production on a scientific and technical basis.

At the Namdok Youth Coal Mine, he stressed the need for the officials to have spare coal beds in reserve by giving precedence to tunneling and to raise the level of mechanization, calling on scientists and technicians to modernize equipment as they are in charge of the production.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of operating the generating equipment according to technical rules and standard regulations and actively introducing technical innovations for economizing on coal and the issue of remodeling the machines and equipment at coal mines to meet the specific conditions, increasing the conveying capacity of the mining pits and improving the supply service for the coal miners.
