In an interview with KCNA, So Chang Chol, manager of the factory, said:

The factory is associated with the immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung.

The President chose the site of the factory on the spot with a grand plan for postwar reconstruction in June Juche 42 (1953) when the Fatherland Liberation War was at its height.

After a Pyongyang mass rally celebrating the war victory on July 28, 1953, he came to the factory to clearly show the road ahead of the factory. So, the factory celebrates the day as its foundation day.

Later, he gave his field guidance to the factory again and worked heart and soul for its development.

Thanks to his energetic leadership, the factory was turned into a large-scale base which produces such building materials as bricks and roofing tiles and daily necessities.

For nearly 70 years, it has turned out billions of bricks and various kinds of building materials, contributing to the construction of monumental edifices and houses across the country.

Recently, the factory supplied in time bricks necessary for the construction of the Pyongyang General Hospital.
