Torrential Rain Hits DPRK
Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Torrential rain caused by the seasonal rainy front is now witnessed in the DPRK every day.

According to data available, more than 200 mm of heavy rain lashed North and South Hwanghae, North Phyongan and Kangwon provinces, Kaesong City and other areas of the country from 00:00 of August 1 to 09:00 of August 4. In particular, it rained 438.5 mm in Jangphung County, 432.6 mm and 391.2 mm in Unsan County and Kusong City, 396.3 mm in Paechon County, 303 mm in Phyonggang County and 233.3 mm in Kaephung District.

A weather expert said that 150-300 mm of rainfall would be registered in most areas of the country till August 6, more than 500 mm in some areas, due to the effect of low pressure by weakened Typhoon-4.

All the sectors of the national economy, including the agricultural sector, are taking steps to prevent damage from downpour.
