High Wind and Wave Warning Issued in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- According to the information from the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, owing to a low atmospheric pressure that has gained strength while pushing towards the north of the East Sea of Korea across the central part of the West Sea of Korea, galeforce wind and high wave are forecast to hit the East Sea of Korea and the sea off South Hwanghae Province.

At night on Aug. 5 10-15 mps southeastern wind and 2-3m high wave are forecast in the sea off South Hwanghae Province.

From dawn until around noon on Aug. 6 15-20 mps southwestern wind and 2-4m high wave are forecast in the sea off South Hwanghae Province, from dawn throughout afternoon southeastern wind is forecast to blow at 15-20 mps in the East Sea of Korea, and from morning until night wave is forecast to rage 2-4m in the far-off sea.

In this regard, strong wind and high wave alert was issued in the sea off South Hwanghae Province on Aug. 5, and second-class strong wind and high wave alert was issued in the East Sea of Korea and the sea off South Hwanghae Province on Aug. 6.
