Red Cross Activities Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Red Cross Society has launched activities for protecting the people from the current crisis in the anti-epidemic work. Now that the state's emergency anti-epidemic system has turned into the maximum emergency system, the Red Cross society is comprehensively reexamining the anti-epidemic work of its branches and taking timely measures in an effort to find and strictly block all the inroads of malignant virus. The central commission for preventing disaster and all its branches in various parts of the country, in close touch with the relevant anti-epidemic headquarters, are meticulously organizing the work to provide medical supplies and basic necessities to the places of quarantine. Red Cross volunteers' activities are getting brisk. They are intensively conducting the work to inform citizens of the danger of the present situation at public places in order to keep them alert so that there would be no slightest practices of self-complacency, carelessness and idleness among them. In cooperation with medical workers in charge of households, they find themselves among inhabitants to take their temperatures every day and conduct medical examination in a responsible manner to find out those with fever. In addition, they are ceaselessly waging diverse hygienic information activities among citizens so that they would drink boiled water, wear masks properly upon relevant rule, frequently disinfect their hands and strictly abide by other anti-epidemic rules and orders. They are also involved in the medical examination and disinfection for passers-by and vehicles at anti-epidemic posts in different parts of the country. |
