Millions of trees were planted in mountains around the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort and plans for tree planting and seeding in spring were overfulfilled throughout the country.

Meanwhile, a work to put the sapling production on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis was dynamically conducted.

Land- and labor-saving nurseries took their shapes in North Hwanghae and South Phyongan provinces and Rason City. And the construction of mother tree nurseries was completed in the main in cities and counties of Kangwon and North Hwanghae provinces.

Also, stepped up were the reconstruction of the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the construction of the Academy of Forest Science and the work to establish a system for surveying and analyzing forest resources.
